Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy
Paramount's "American Love Story"- Ryan Murphy's latest upcoming series, will focus on the romance between Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr. with filming currently underway in New York City.
Part of the FX anthology slate, this series is set to explore their high-profile relationship which began in 1992 and ended tragically in 1999. The show is planned to premiere the week of Valentine's Day in 2026. Sarah Pidgeon, American actor from The Wilds, will be taking the lead role as the glamorous Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy with co-star Naomi Watts to portray Jackie, Bessette-Kennedy’s mother-in-law and newcomer Paul Kelly, as John F. Kennedy Jr.- son of JFK and Jackie and the husband of Carolyn. Born in upstate New York, Carolyn Bessette was a fashion publicist who worked at Calvin Klein when she met JFK Jr. in 1992. They were engaged by 1995 and for their secret wedding in 1996, she chose a minimalist white slip dress by Narciso Rodriguez (a friend and colleague at Calvin Klein) - making the designer a household name overnight. Carolyn's effortlessly cool street style established the modern-day fashion editor’s minimalistic uniform and legacy as a style icon that continues to inspire people today.

CBK STYLE
CBK is widely regarded as one of New York City’s most stylish women. With her signature “less is more” philosophy, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy turned even the simplest pieces into something uniquely hers. Remembered for her great white t-shirts and blue jeans, a chic headband and a pair of sunnies - she could elevate a casual look simply with her choices in layering and accessorizing with pared-back makeup and the occasional red lip.
In March of 1999 for the Whitney Museum of American Art gala, rather than an embellished ballgown, she wore a crisp white men’s-style shirt tucked into a black silk skirt, both by Yohji Yamamato and a gold chain-mail evening bag by Paco Rabanne which remains one of the most iconic images of the 1990s. CBK not only defined an era, but her style is endlessly re-creatable today.
